Re: Another Dumb Jeep
Thanks for the reminder! Moving and starting seminary has been a bit of a distraction. Getting this thing all finished up was obnoxious. I used a ratchet strap and engine hoist to pull the body off myself. The rest of it was fairly straightforward. Cut out the cancer, weld on non-cancerous pieces. D...

Re: Another Dumb Jeep
Finally getting back around to hopefully putting the jeep back together. I'm heading to my parents house to spend the next few weeks with them and to get this thing running. I ordered several other patches after further inspection of the trailing arm mounts and the rear spring mounts. I'm hoping to ...

Re: Another Dumb Jeep
Last weekend I went home to work on the jeep some more. Dad and I got the frame pretty well cut open and most of the rust chopped out. As we got in there we realized there are a couple other spots we need to patch as well. Also discovered we need to replace the brake lines which will be fun. Had to ...

Re: 32RH trans rebuild
Sounds like a good thing I ended up picking up a low mileage one. I may yet undertake the project just for the hell of it when I get settled in Colorado and have more space and time.

Re: 6.OH
As much fun as that might be.. I think I'll stick to doing that to a project vehicle instead of my daily
These were the problem children. Got two of them out and the third is still stuck in the block. At the end of things there were three different cylinders that had an intake/exhaust lifter gone bad

Re: 6.OH
After bashing the truck when I took it to the shop I found a new hood and a few other things. Kept working on the bumper so its almost done at this point. Just needs to be sanded and painted. Its come a long way since looking like I had teeth coming off the grille. Started the tear down on the old m...

Re: Another Dumb Jeep
Right, so here you can see where I had to cut the plate off on one side where my cousin decided it would be a good idea to weld it on. Also saw evidence of another patch on the passenger side rocker arm mount

Re: Another Dumb Jeep
Went home this weekend to work on the jeep and somehow it took us way longer than it should've to remove the existing motor/trans. Picked up used ones from two different guys in Fredericksburg and down near Richmond on Saturday. New motor has 170k on it and the trans supposedly has 55k, but its cake...

32RH trans rebuild
Instead of dropping a different transmission in the jeep I'm considering rebuilding the one in there. Any tips or information on rebuilding an automatic transmission? I haven't gotten into one before so its new to me.

Re: 6.OH
A few weeks ago the truck got back on the road. Refurbished turbo, arp headstuds, bulletproof egr cooler, and coolant filter. Since then I've started building a front bumper. After I finish this I'll work on steps and a rear bumper.

Another Dumb Jeep
One of my cousins broke his '01 TJ and instead of fixing it decided it would be better to give it away/sell it. I managed to jump on that and here I am with one of the vehicles I never thought I would own. You can't argue with free. What it has: Literally nothing, its stock. What it needs: 1) new tr...

Re: 6.OH
Some of the local crew have heard, but I bought another 6.0 motor to drop in with 74k miles on it. I'm having a shop put it in and they'll transfer over the studs and the bulletproof egr so I'll hopefully have this motor go for a while this time. I think I'll have it back on the road next week which...
