Re: What to do with my 4runner?
Sounds like a junk yard motor swap and keep driving it is the consensus. I do like the 3rd gen 4runners and I did have to look long and far for one with a 5spd, so I probably shouldn't get rid of it. I'll probably keep it as is, maybe even drop back to a P-rated 265/70R16 tire for a better ride. A l...

What to do with my 4runner?
Trying to make a rational decision about what to do with my '97 4runner which was my DD. For those that don't know its a 3.4L, 5 speed, SR5, on Old Man Emu 880/890 suspension with 265/75R16 tires. It's got about 280,000mi on it, it's completely rust free but has body damage to the entire driver side...

Re: Big Gay Won Ton LJ
Another upgrade you should consider while you've got the shafts out is converting to full circle clips. I assume it's the same process as a D44, just requires a grinder and the right size snap rings. Good quality u-joints with full circle clips will add a lot of strength for very little money. Make ...

Bump
I think Alec wants the safaris, the rest are still for sale. Getting ready to put this stuff on CL if no one in the club can use them.

Re: Big Gay Bronco Build
I'm finally finishing my motor. Fixed it for you.... :flipoff2: Is it ever really done? The quest for more power is never ending.... Big blocks are for tow rigs and mud trucks :lol2: that is sig worthy. I agree. I'm sure I'll be asking you an annoying amount of questions when th...

Re: Big Gay Bronco Build
I unfortunately sold the BBF I had sitting around for the rig, but I think I will be happier with a mild SBF between cost, labor, and difficulty factors. Big blocks are for tow rigs and mud trucks, they are heavy and expensive to build. For the type of wheeling we do you'd be happier with a well bu...

Re: Bunch of different tires for sale
Hey Matt to your knowledge what is the width of the Q78s. Got a friend who is running a long arm 4 link rear on an uncut bronco and needs a 10.5 or narrower tire to fit it and wants bigger than 31s. I have found that they are everything from 11-9.5 what are they actually!!! Know it's not a question...

Bunch of different tires for sale
Some of these aren't worth much, I'll be putting them on craigslist if none of yall can use them. 4- BFG KM2's 285/75R16, about 20% tread on two, two probably won't pass inspection $80 for the set 4- Goodyear workhorse MT's 245/75R16, about 20% tread, might pass inspection $50 for the set 2- Kelly S...

Re: 1978 F-150's Are Girly Trucks
Looking good man, The 360 and 390 are virtually identical on the outside. The best way to tell is remove a spark plug and measure the stroke. If its a 360 it will have a 3.5" stroke, a 390 is 3.78" stroke. They are good motors, I have a 360 in my '69 F-350. Just an FYI, it's very easy to t...

Re: Good automotive machine shops in the area?
There was a really good one in Wytheville that Terry and I used but It closed a few years ago. At the moment I just need to get the 2.3L Ford in my brothers jeep dipped, bored over, and deck milled, maybe a valve job, should be pretty straight forward. Eventually I might also need my L134 bored and ...

Good automotive machine shops in the area?
Looking for a good machine shop in the NRV or close by that will do motor work (block dip/magnaflux, boring, turning cranks, valves, etc). Got a couple of Jeep motors that need some work. Any suggestions would be great,
Thanks,
Grubb
