Looking for a good machine shop in the NRV or close by that will do motor work (block dip/magnaflux, boring, turning cranks, valves, etc). Got a couple of Jeep motors that need some work. Any suggestions would be great,
Thanks,
Grubb

I might be interested in the four used ones. What load range, any plugs/patches/cuts?

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
Good info Grubb. I'll have to go do some more reading on Ford V8's. I was just trying to talk myself out of trying to build one for my rig too. Gus, is that an actual dyno sheet or what, like Grubb was saying? I'd be interested to know. Also, does the truck bumpsteer? That draglink and panhard bar ...

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
If yall are interested in this stuff a few good books that you can get at Barnes and Noble: Ford Performance by Pat Ganahl -good older book about building sbf, bbf, FE and clevelands How to Build Max Performance Ford V8s on a Budget by George Reid -also covers all ford V8s, little bit newer info and...

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
I thought the 351C, 351M, and 400 were all Ford 335 engines? So Grubb, with that dyno sheet, is it more likely that is a 351M stroked or a 400 with a .030" bore? It looks to make a good power and a whole lot of torque with what you say are stock heads (I can't tell by inspection). How does one...

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
I hope it doesn't seem like I'm busting your balls, because that's not my intent at all, but those pics are of a 351M/400 not a 351C. It doesn't matter to me what motor is in your rig, it looks like a really clean, capable, classic rig, but it will behoove you to know exactly what motor you have, es...

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
Since the Bronco is back home I haven't had much time to dig into it, but the Bronco has a 351 Cleveland stroked to a 408 with Australian Ford Heads. The previous owner was a long time friend who was into built 351 Clevelands. I have been trying to piece together some old photos of the rig from dif...

Re: 1969 Ford Bronco
Looks like a neat rig, I've always loved EB's, hope to build one for my wife someday. Looking forward to seeing it out on the trail. Which motor is currently in it? Just an FYI, the black motor in the chassis pics is a 335 series (351M/400/351C) but the blue motor in the motor pics is definitely a W...

If you still have the 265/75R16's in a load range C I might be interested in them for my 4runner.

Re: Advance Auto 30% Discount
Just an FYI, be sure to check the prices of the part in the store vs online before ordering. I've found some parts that are marked up a lot online (coincidentally its right at 30%) for example a cylinder head for my wifes Accord was $437 online and only $315 in store, gasket set was $199 online and ...

Re: Wanted: 3rd gen 4runner parts
A port a power is the best way. Its slow steady and controlled. Its what I used to straighten up my truck to get it back together. I borrowed the one used and could borrow it again but it would likely take a little time to get. I also believe northen tool and harbor freight have them. May just be a...

Re: Wanted: 3rd gen 4runner parts
The Rocky on Poor Mountain I remember. Was it used to right Stinson at Uwharrie on Daniel? I've not heard about the tractor... :confused2: Yup, those two, and I think one other I can't remember. Dad turned a tractor over last year while cutting wood (only person I know to turn a tractor over withou...

Re: Wanted: 3rd gen 4runner parts
I think I'll go with a fabbed plate style bumper, similar to the stock profile, but with some D-rings and high-lift slots. Probably build one for the rear to match and paint them Pearl to match the body. I was trying to remember how many rigs I've righted using that come-along, three or four I think...
