what, the car tires? when it snowed i got up to 4th gear (hi range) in my parking lot... does that count?

benny's got my camera right now, but i'll snap some pics once i'm done with the latest round of work. so far that's:

new front springs

moved steering box

lengthen front driveline/square tube spare driveline

new tires

t-case e-brake

moving rear shackle hangers for better angle and less lift

pseudo-bumper in the rear so I can (finally) pass inspection

and i'm thinking about some cromo longs (if tew buys my old laptop)

they're clicking every time i turn the wheel, so if ben buys my compy 286, i'm gonna swap out the old longs and keep them as spares (if they're in good shape). I've got a couple stock shafts i'll use so i can just drop the whole long/stock shaft assembly in if the pig inners or cromo longs fail... i really need to get a hold of an extra IFS bearing hub in case i shear the pins and studs or blow up a locking hub.

bobby had some interesting numbers (on his axle-breaker machine) for when the stock hubs fail (non-air ride upgraded)... looks like they'll hold up to 6000 ft/lbs or something... the pig inners fail @ 5500, so as far as a "fuse" the pig 4340 inners look to be it. that's probably good since its easier to replace an inner shaft, and broken birfs tend to take out a bunch of other junk, too.

course, if my engine's putting out (at least) 140 ft/lbs and @ 108:1 reduction... that's just north of 15,000 ft/lbs (minus any drivetrain losses) to the axle shafts... ouch...

Which Longs are you running now? I am thinking about the 27 splines and stock inners for money reasons and it should leave the inners as the weak link and not the R&P. Also did you get your tires to balance out and how much weight did you use?

Old skool ringed longs are what i'm runnin right now, with 4340 inners.

tires are sorta balanced, they're pretty out of round, tho, but, whatever they're bias ply

it doesn't help that there's no weight on the back of my truck, either.
