just found out some more intersting info....i have the wrong t-case in the jeep. i have a 231 D instead of the 231 J that's supposed to be there..... now wondering if the trans is the right one....
edit: I have the ax-15, and the 231 D is apparently out of some form of dodge... 94 dakota or 1/2 ton truck according to date on tag and webpage i found.
re-edit: after some investigation, i've got a wider chain and sprockets in this unit, but still unsure if any sye's will work with it. i think so since they dont change sprockets, just the output shaft which i belive is splined to the sprocket ? (un-sure, have not found exploded view...)
re-re-edit: found exploded view, looks like it all just splines ont output shaft, so any sye should work..... yay for the np231D.....yay for the jeep.....

thanks for the seals, and i was just kidding about not knowing what it was....trying to be funny...but no one's taking it as a joke..... its been leaking for a while, just not that bad i have noticed that the drivers side is leaking now too....guess i'll be regearing soon, cause if i take it down, no reason not to put in the lower gears.... fawkin 8.25 seems to have wasted the pinion seal again (hoping not another set of pinion bearings, but it was running a water/gear oil/mud mixture for a few months before i did this particular mod....an actual diff "plug" instead of a rubber push in fluid pumping regulator.....
