Hello all,
As a recent graduate of VT, I am spending my summer looking for a job. Also, as a summer project, I swapped an LT1 V8 into my dads old work truck (a Chevy K1500), which had spun a bearing.
Anyway, now that the truck is running right, I would like to take it around to some of the local trails. My dad used to off-road his Bronco around Blacksburg in the early 80’s and he told me about a few places he’d gone, one being the brush mountain fire road/jeep trail which I believe you guys call ‘bobcat.’ Since I have never been off-roading before, and none of my friends have either, I would very much like to go with someone who knows what their doing.
For those wondering about my screen name, my daily driver is a '98 supercharged Buick Regal that I have done a few things to, including, overdrive S/C pulley, high ratio roller rockers, police impala swaybars and brakes, custom computer, and exhaust, among other things.
New to off-roading but not to Blacksburg

Unfortunately, I saw this too late, but thanks for the invite. Hope you guys had fun, and hit me up next time you guys want to go, if you will, because I am really looking forward to it.
As for the mechanical status of the truck… It seems to be working well and is probably as solid as it’s gonna get, but at this point, it is not really a proven vehicle, so that’s another thing that makes me nervous about going out on the trail alone. It has some very large tow hooks on the front, and a bumper hitch on the rear that should work OK.

Cool, im going to set up a post in the trail rides section to see if more people want to come. I was thinking we could meet up sometime around 4-5:00pm at Hardees Sat. afternoon, if that is cool with you. See you this weekend, oh and we meet at the back of Hardees, just look for the lifted trucks and jeeps, you cant miss us.
