because i only have 3 leaves in my rear packs (and probably only have 4 after i do the 3" on it) my jeep has got some wild wheel hop if you break the tires loose. it also causes the thing to jump and buck when you pull out or shift pretty hard. i dont really want a solid bar to do it and thougth that a shock would produce similar results....

ideas??

i would think the best thing is to do is just get better leaf springs. 80 bucks for two shocks and then probably at least 20 for materials to fab it. thats almost half the cost of new springs right there

i dont really see how having a shock like that would help. the springs are still going to wrap as the shock is still allowing movement. it may be a little more controlled?

because the shock is mounted to the spring plate, parallel with the spring, it will help keep the axle from being able to bend the spring into an S shape. i'd use a little longer standoff to make it more effective i think...

It will still bend into an s-shape, the length of the shock will change, allowing the degree of movement required to allow the spring to s. You would be better off using a chain. Look at Sheila's setup, $18 tractor top links from tractor supply. She spanked Snatch Hill with em (while the bitch was dry of course, but still handled remarkably well).

werd ... it may help cut down on the severity a little ... but it will still wrap. do it like miller and sheila did on her YJ if you want something that will actually work.
