05 Rubi *SOLD*

Post by JPN High »

Selling for a friend:
05 Rubi
Khaki/Hard Top/Soft Top/6spd/4:1
D44 front and rear
4.88's, chromoly shafts
All skids, Poision Spyder front and rear fenders
Kilby OBA
ORO Steering
(5) 37 Iroks
RE 6.5 LA
Caged/Locked
This is setup to run reds/blacks or just as a mall crawler. Drove it for 3 hours on 81 at 70mph without a vibe after a wheeling trip.

Below are some pics of it at Rausch Creek a couple of times that my GF took (only ones I have). I can get others to show the condition overall. This Jeep was done right and spared no expense. Asking $23,000. Located in Harrisonburg. Click on the pics to make them bigger.

"chrome alloy" is accurate.

"chromoly" is an abbreviation for chromium-molybdenum steel....an alloy of chromium. chrome is short for chromium. chrome alloy.

same thing, different nick-names.

Hmm. I knew what it was an abbreviation for, but I had only seen chrome-moly and chromoly. Oh well. As soon as you stop learning you may as well be dead.

chrome alloy still wouldn't be the best description, as it could be an alloy of chromium and ANYTHING, not necessarily molybdenum.

it's the truth, but not the whole truth, or nothing but the truth, or... I dunno.

Alloys

Post by Andrew »

I thought when you say XX alloy, XX is the primary constituent element, not the alloying agent.

Correct would be?? Iron alloyed with Chrome and Molybdenum.

that is just symantics ...

i guess if you want to be 100% (i think .... pretty sure i nailed them all ) proper you would say

Iron alloyed with Carbon, Manganese, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Silicon, Chromium, and Molybdenum

to make a chromium - molybdenum Steel alloy

:D

who cares ... we know what he meant
