now it makes sense to me........
I thought it was because James could smell it from his shop... :confused2:
Well, I get a horrible burning smell in my nose and lungs whenever I am around Jeeps in general, but seems to lessen with the amount of GM parts involved in said Jeep. Lucky for me, most "built" Jeeps have many GM parts involved, so it makes it easier to tolerate.

well, in general, the only "jeep" parts on a jeep have always been the motors. On my XJ, the only thing "jeep" is the 4.0. The tranny is Asian (same as toyota), t-case is New Process (same as just about every 4wd in America), front axle is Dana, rear is Chrysler. Jeep's start with other peoples parts!

so the FedEx man was kind of good to me today ... he brought me a box from Ballistic Fab (but dropped it off at the wrong damn house regardless of it my address on it).

Lets open it!!!!

what is this?? A box you say?!?!?
Image

Let us open it!!
Image

Aww Fawk ... its empty!!!
Image

But not really. 8 new Forged 4140 Joints, 4 billet tube caps (which will me machined and milled to make door hinges for my tube doors), and a free sticker.

size reference with my beverage of choice
Image

What is this? This is 2.00" x 0.500" wall DOM ... drilled and tapped for 1.25 x 12TPI threads ... i wonders what will fit in here?!?!
Image

Well slap my ass and call me Ginger ... those joints fit perfectly (and not loose in the threads like the "competitors" (who we will call Johnny) Joints did...
Image

All of my rear links are Finito!! Assuming a 1" Jam nut (which is actually slightly smaller than what i will be using ... im going for a 1.0625" jam nuts) i get right at a 42" link eye to eye ... and the bitches are heavy too ... 8.01lbs / ft x 3.0ft = 24 lbs of link + (3.5lbs (weight of 1 BF joint) x 2) = 31lbs each ...
Image

and then some tube caps for my hinges ..
Image

profile of the tube caps.

Excuse my ignorance Mr. cody.

The tubing that is drilled and tapped for the end links. Did you drill and tap them or did you buy it like that?

I need to build some traction bars for my truck. This is why I ask.
