Wanted: '79 Ford D-shaft

Post by VerticalTRX »

I'm needing a rear driveshaft for a '79 F-150, short bed, with manual tranny and 205 t-case. I believe its a 51" shaft, 1330 series u-joint and CV-joint. The kicker is that this shaft ONLY came in the 1979 F-100/F-150  If anyone has one let me know.

Or, if anyone has a 1310 series yoke for a Ford 9" I might want that as well so I can convert to run my spare shaft.

Thanks in advance.

In the meantime, while looking for the shaft you need, could you run a conversion u-joint? 1330 to 1310.

Just a thought..

a guy on another forum said to call leons auto parts south of culpeper, he said they should have one. who knows how much they want for it, or how far you want to drive though.

Actually, I got to thinking about this and I can just swap the lower silp portion of the d-shaft to get the right u-joint. The top is the problem, however my spare NP205 'might' have a 1310 series output yoke on it. If so I'll run that for a while till I can get my 1330 shaft built back up right. I'll check when I go home, if not I'll be searching around for a Ford NP 205 yoke for a 1310 series CV head, so if anyone has one of those let me know.

Matt...

I'm pretty sure J&J over here in Radford has at least two '77-'79 F-100/F-150 pick ups.

I don't know what kind of shape the driveshafts are in but I know the trucks are up there.

Let me know if you need any help pulling them.

Ok, thanks for the info. I might check to see what they have next week.
