well wheeled the jeep about 6-7 times sense the axles swap and 3-4 since the cage and hydro and been pretty freaking happy with it unfortunate stuff has started to break and a a lot of things i did in a rush and need some good ole finish work done to them. currently got the front all torn apart and
-gonna make new track bar brackets,
-paint all my steering stuff,
-new hydro lines, pitman arm and trackbar tore the old ones up pretty good!!!!!!!!!!!!
-new ram mounts, actually have my ram centered after this!!!
-brace my axle side coilover mounts,
-applied steel plating to my pitman arm on my third one now and didnt wanna bend the shit out of it as well.
-gonna grind the frame down more from where the old coil buckets are and clean up trusses on the upper coilover mounts,
-i finally moved my air cleaner on top of the motor to protect from water (used to sit in pass fender well),
-lifted my radiator and motor up to help clear my flat pitman arm
-Probably will put a WJ power steering pump in to make my power steering a little more powerfull, works now but could work a little better with some more flow i think!!!
hopefully rebuild all my coilovers before the end of the summer probably gonna keep the same shims for now, seems to work pretty good up to this point
working on the dana 300 as well still somehow that keep getting pushed back!!! but toying with using the front half of my np231 as a doubler for it now only would end up around .5" longer than my current setup and wouldnt need to stretch, new driveshafts, or anything.

Re: Camo Tj
Done did tore the corner of my jeep off and gonna replace it with a new one one of these days just waiting for that day to magically happen now.......
Also stumbled upon a good day to work on the Dana 300 so i did that... so i need to put two more seals on the blocks but then it will be ready to rock and role.
Also fixed the front end up, new track bar mounts both upper and lower, new steering lines, painted everything, braced coilover mounts, drank some beer...

Re: Camo Tj
got some more parts in for the dana 300 pretty much all that is left is to get a clocking ring and an output shaft extension shaft for the transmission and it should be good to put in. then make some shifters and good to go.
been doing a million little things to the jeep these days as i find everything i did in 5 minutes that should have taken an hour... the last couple days i worked on lifting my seats up about 2" inches so now i can see over the steering wheel, finished putting the Al roof i had started earlier this year, and added some front tow points so i can stop using my boner bar as a tow point.
Lid:
Once i get my hands on a tig welder ill fill in the gap in the back with a piece of Al (just need a few more paychecks before i can spend to much money)
Front points, gonna try and gusset them a little bit cause im slightly worried about the strenght of just the 1/2" plate. I welded the crap out of them but still worried:
Im actually finally running out of sketchy/shittily done stuff to remove from the jeep now, only have the rear upper coil buckets to cut them off of the frame, then fix all the brake lines up, build some front inner fender liners, find a way set up the back nicely so i can have an organized way to carry my tools, fluids, spare parts and stuff like that. Thinking im gonna get some trail gear fluid holders along with my sweet AL action packer mount and tool box and should be good to go.

Re: Camo Tj
in need of radial tires and none diy beadlocks now so i can drive it on the street again... so do i sell my current ters and get a set of like 39s and al beadlocks and just deal with wheeling on radials which i dont really like after having bais's plies and see how much tougher they are in most situations. so like i said
option 1: sell creapies and get 39" or so radials and Al beadlocks
option 2: Keep creapies and get 37" radials and steelies (would get like 40" radials but then i would have bigger onroad tires than offroad.... which doesnt mean i wont do that)
tire choices: MTR/K, nitto trail grappler m/t, Procomp Extreme MT2, toyo open country MT. I dont know of any other non interco tires that come in that size and are radials. Dont really want treps and creepies unless they bias.

Nah they do alright but still like to fall out of balance at 50 and up sometimes they death wobble but mostly just like a steady small shake, I don't really mind the shake or anything but I keep tearing up balljoints and am gonna get tired of replacing them. I think the real issue is the wheels honestly, but I don't want buy a set of Al 15" beadlocks unless I find a really cheap set.

Re: Camo Tj
When compared to bias ply, yes. My Nittos are pretty freaking strong, at least the load E's. In 12k miles I've had 2 Rausch trips, 3 or 4 potts trips, driven with a nail in my tread, and used my pinch seam to siped my tires using my pinch seam. Still 0 complaints on and off road.redneckrapunzel wrote:That's kinda what im leaning towards at the moment... but radial sidewalls are so weak!!!!!!!!!!!!! would look badass doe!!

Re: Camo Tj
after the rausch trip figured out my jeep had some cooling issues when wheeling in hot weather... therefore gonna get some sweet jeeper hood louvers and an electric fan. Also moved my air intake off of directly off the top of my engine i figured that wasnt helping much, moved into the little space with the windshield wiper motor. looks like this
also if anyone was worried about the extremely small shackle mounts.. they bent after a pretty gentle pull... therefore gonna get 2 more and weld those suckers together.

Re: Camo Tj
disk brakes yay!!! just need a new prop valve so that my rear brakes get enough fluid to actually stop the wheels.
