Need some 3.5x3.5 square tube....

Post by Stinson »

All I need is a 5-8inch long piece of 3.5x3.5 1/4 inch thick would be best. If any one has any laying around let me know how much you want for it. I have my gas tank out right now doing some frame repair and installing a new tank so I figure it would be best to weld new hangers on for the longer springs I am installing Thanks Stinson

sky makes a nice hanger for the 63" chevy spring swap they sell it as a kit but I think they will sell it seperately.

Also, there is a way to weld the hanger on if you have the gas tank on the vehicle. It is still better to weld on the hanger with it off. Drill three or four holes, 9/16 works well, on the top inside of the hanger. This will take place of the bead that would be placed if the gas tank was not in the way. Just make sure you get a good weld to the frame and dont just fill the hole. and do a good job around the edges of the hanger you can get to.

seacrh around on the board, there's quite a few places to but steel local, but they all tend not to like selling small quantities. also, miller's got a line on a bunch of steel if you don't mind waiting. pm him.
