Did what did you do about the body mounts back there?

My cage is tied into the frame and has plates that sandwich the body at the fender. I also built the frame so that the tub more or less rests on it.

Long story short, I did nothing for body mounts. I figure the cage replaces the two that were lost

You think that will fatigue the tubing with frame flexing and not have any bushings in between your frame and body?

Since his shocks are mounted to his cage he pretty much has to hard mount the cage to frame and it shouldn't be a problem. The worst it will do is crack the body around the sandwich plates

Exactly, the only thing that would receive damage here would be the body, which I'm obviously not too concerned about. The cage does actually have poly bushing where the kickers tie into to frame but I also have my tube fender grill setup in the front which is bolted to the body and welded to the frame. All in all I will like add another tie in for the cage and I doubt I'll bother using a bushing, theres very little left of the tub in the rear anyway.

Decided I didn't like the way I was doing my front uppers and thought the truss setup I had was a little ghetto (and one of the brackets warped real bad when welding.

So I decided to redo the front axle entirely and go with a plate style truss across the whole axle. Made a brake for our press and bent up the main plate, got the front plate fitted to the axle, still need to tackle the rear.

Looking good Will that sure beats your old piece of C channel, I'm assuming your going to redo your motor mounts now too?

I've actually already redone them and moved it up and over a few inches. I did it over spring break but never took any pictures. I just used leafspring bushings and 2x2x.250 square tubing notched to hit the corner of the frame rail.

Hoping to have the front axle finished today/tonight. The truss atleast, hoping to get the ram mount finished too.

Truss is finished with the exception of about an hours worth of welding left. This thing took forever, but I'm very happy with it. Haven't fully decided how I'm gonna do the ram mount, considering putting it behind the axle.

If I were you I'd go ahead and put your ram behind the axle. I'd probably do something similar to what kirby did on his new buggy.

Thats my exact inspiration

He did it on his TJ too, I'm just not sure if it will clear the front of my engine. I suppose I should get it setup underneath the jeep first, but its so easy working on the axle out on stands.
