I'm not sure what you said, but I'm suggesting making a tube that is shaped like an oval for the full length of the tube. So in one direction it's like 1" wide, but the other it's like 1.5" wide.

That way you'd have less blocking your view.

Yea I like that idea. Clever. Now let's see if I get motivated enough to make it happen.

Building a cage takes forever. But I did manage to get everything square and tacked together, bend up a brow bar and some B pillars.

Had to bend the B pillars around these door striker reinforcement panel things so that they would still be in plane with the A and C pillars looking from the front or back.

Plan is to bring 3 spreaders from the center of the B to B bar to the center and two outside spots on the brow bar. Going to try and get the same bends in em as my A pillars.

Ya, makes me really want to paint my rig all one color. The trashiness of bare metal mixed with rusty metal mixed with white mixed with black mixed with blue mixed with gray mixed with purple hides how pretty and shinny my new wheels are.

If you want I'll bring my spray gun back with me. I'd paint it for you if you wanted.

Nick, I normally just post comments that are sarcastic in nature but I gotta say those wheels are friggin hot man :thumby: I'd rock it without paint cause you don't even notice with the rims popping out at you like that. I've never seen or heard of those either.

Thanks. Overall I'm happy with them. Me and Will had issues with the second valve stems leaking, which has been a reported problem, so I just squeezed a bunch of RTV down in the holes before tightening them up since I don't need them.

I have to say the reviews are correct, the KMC's are lacking a little bit of craftsmanship and quality, but for the price I couldn't justify spending more for a nicer wheel that's ultimately going to get beat to shit on the trail anyway. Lots of comp guys run em and they seem to hold up just fine.

I am curious as to the the inner bead on the PBR's with these wheels. The safety bead doesn't pop around the inner bead protector on the KMCs. Time will tell, might be burpin' some air first time out.

Made very little progress on the cage recently, but some. Got the three overhead spreaders done and tacked in last night.

Also, this came in today! Holley Pro-Jection TBI system w/ the closed loop kit and some other trinkets (rich/lean indicator, Walbro fuel pump, etc.) I've read some shady reviews on trying to get this thing tuned right, but I got it for 500 shipped, and its about 1400 dollars worth of parts, so I'm going to give it a try. Plus I don't have to go to the junkyard and roll around in broken glass and motor oil trying to pull stock Cheby stuff.

Oh and check out my to do list. I'm fawked......

Few updates over the past couple weeks.

Got my rear spreaders done and tacked in

Pulled out the 14 bolt for:

Fixing my incorrectly assembled wheel bearings
Caliper brackets
Welded axle tubes
Welded diff
Diff breather
5.38 gears and install kit
finally put some axle shafts in
finished welding my rear shackle hangers on
added an extra main leaf to my cherocar springs
got everything painted and put back under the jeep

Rant and company made me a very nice clutch linkage and wired up my headlights/front turn signals this weekend

Got my trans shifter bent out of the way (no more sticking straight up past the cowl) of the dash and attempted to rebuild/repair my t case linkage

Made seat mounts, only thing left on these is to get/make some tabs for the seat bolts

Be super busy with being out of town, school, FE exam, etc. Did manage to notch some tabs and finish mounting my seats, throw in some gussets, grab bars, and a harness bar. Also replaced the body mounts. Will helped me out and did 99.9% of the finish welding on my cage, mostly while I was away doing other shit. Got it pulled, painted, and put back in the other day.

A good portion of my steering set up arrived weeks ago, and after a month long battle with Ballistic I canceled my order with them and went with some Parts Mike arms and heims from Ruff Stuff. Hopefully those ship ASAP so I can get the front end finished up.
