Got the jeep into the garage this afternoon and started to do some shit.
Picked up some chevy 52" springs yesterday off a 86 k5 blazer, they were a ass pain to get off
Image
Before with the stock cherokee springs.. it also sits a little low in the rear so hopefully i can get the right mixture of springs on the new set up.

Old springs out

52"s in just sitting on the spring pads with 2 lug nuts on for a picture..

I need to add another leaf.. I took 2 out and need to add one back and I think it will be good. Sittin to low now. Also obviously I need to do some trimming and body work. But I like the stretch gained. Will post some pictures tomorrow hopefully when I get it finished up.

looks much better with the extra wheelbase, I like it, time for some serious trimming. What's your wheelbase now?

Still have a lot of stuff to do. I need to redo upper and lower shock mounts, I am going to make some tube fenders hopefully up at Nicks place out of 1.5" tube for the rear which will clean it up and make it look much better.. Need to lengthening my drive shaft still and Im starting on a rear bumper today.. using 2x4x.250 stainless  we will see how it comes out

Pardon me for being a newb but how come those springs push your rear axle back? Aren't the mounts in the same spot?

Stock rear cherokee leaf springs are offset, from the front mounting area to "center" is 23" and from that center point to the rear is longer at 28+5/8"s, so by replacing that leaf spring pack with the 52" spring pack that has a centered pin and equal lengths of 26"s on both sides... I essentially push the axle back 3"s. This chart may help explain it better...

Still need to add my receiver mount to the center of the bumper but I might wait to use Will's plasma to cut out the square for that.
