cool. thanks.. i really appreciate it.

if that's not feasible, ask if you can ratchet strap it to the wing or landing gear or something.

Awesome.. Can you get pictures from him?? Where'd he find his 2.5 tons??

I'm gonna research the shaft diameters to see how well it could work.

Here is the classified ad he posted.

Mentioned he wanted 400 for the axles.

I'm gonna see if it'll work.. I want a picture to see the condition and know if it's a top loader or front loader. That'll help with the research.. If the shafts are too large it's a no-go, and there's the issue with the size of the side gears and/or cross pin. Other than that I'm pretty sure it's super similar to the 2.5's just bigger.

His locations says Lexington. I can assume that's where he is right?? If it looks promising I'll go get it. For $400 or less it's almost worth the gamble to test.

He posted this picture.

He said it isn't the exact one he has, but it is that style.

He is in Franklin, VA. About 20 minutes from me.

About 1.5-2 hours from Clarksville on 58

That picture was posted by some random dude.. Not the seller..

I can make it to Franklin in just under 2 hours. It wants me to sign up before I can email the guy which sucks.

Thanks! That's exactly what I need. I'm afraid those shafts are 2" diameter and I'm not so sure that leaves me enough to work with. I guess I could then mix and match 2.5 ton w/ 5 ton parts and just buy those 2.5 ton parts I need.

From what he said it's a front loader. Also think using the shafts wouldn't work out so I'd end up needing 2.5 ton rockwell parts still. It's a good deal, but I don't think it's going to fit what I need.. Back to the 2.5 ton search.

Yea.. That 5 axis fab kid is a prick. There was a big argument over who's idea the whole thing was which is bs to start with as it's nothing new or revolutionary. But the kid building these did some shady shit with cutting contact with the other guy that had given him the idea as he started trying to make some of these for profit.. Something like that.. Buncha fru-fru soap opera kinda shady crap. Anyway, I wouldn't trust the guy building those much farther than I could throw that axle with one arm. Even though the original debate over the "idea" was stupid he seems to have sketchy morals with the way he treated his buddy.
