We also own Interstate and Optima. Just to brag, I can buy red tops for $70.00/shipped to my door, yellow for $80.00/shipped. Used to really sweet until soon after I found this sweet deal they limited the number of batteries per year to 2.
so my jetta needs an optima :D

Talk about a blast from the past, Kim was the man.

Kim was indeed the man, and if you need parts for your Honda ATV or dirt bike, he still is. Well, as of about a year ago he was, haven't been by there to see if he's still working there or not.

I can't believe that you guys are still even buying optimas. The last couple I have weren't worth their weight in shit. They would be dead every time I tried to start the truck, even with the cables unhooked.

And I think you were there Benny when my last one started to boil at the shooting range in B-burg.

I have an Odyssey battery in my Samurai that came from a Coast Gaurd boat, and it is by far better than the POS Optima in my Trailduster.

If I can help it, I won't be buying any more Optima batteries for my stuff.

yes, i know people have had troubles.. but my experiences thus far have been very good.. so i feel like optimas and I just have a luck thing going on..

HOWEVER, i guess i've never had bad luck with any new battery.. The two in the Dodge are the same ones that were in it when I bought the thing and they get a workout, especially in the winter. My old taco never had a battery replacement.. I keep one optima in the shop that works as a power source and an extra battery and it still kicks well.. I had the battery die in the Bronco the day I sold it.. Showed up in Tidewater and it would no longer start.. The long trip and extended heat probably got to it.. This battery in the Taco died but it just looked old and beat to hell.. So while I've never had bad luck with any battery, I still like optimas..

The only bad luck I've had with any battery is these Neverstarts I got from Walmart. I expected that, though and am relying on the 3 year replacement. I got cheap ones to start with until I could get the electrical issues worked out in the CUCV.

i have had my optima since i bought the wrangler ... countless times of lights being left on, jumps to larger vehicles, general abuse (fawker hasnt even been bolted down since february ... ill never buy anything else unless i explore the odyssey route ...and thats merely for size.

i guess i bought this back in 05 and i have abUSED the hell out of it ... killed it so many itme i cant remember (all of those were my fault, the battery never died, i drained it) and it still wont die ....

I killed it once too and it still holds a charge like a king! When you do get a good Optima you really do get a good one.

Another satisfied Optima user here as well. I abused the hell out of the optima in my old Cherokee. Drained it down to nothing running the radio while wrenching countless times. The amazing thing is that when I would try to start it I would barely get a click. Turn everything off, clean up, take a shower, come out, and it would usually have enough juice to kick the motor off and get it started! I was always amazed by that

I wish, the XJ and WV property never coexisted in my life. Otherwise the XJ probably would have been in a lot worse shape when I sold it

Hell with all that high dollar shit. I just get the re-man's from Battery Mart in Woodlawn for 24 bucks. :thumby: All but one Optima I've ever had was a swap out from something that passed through. The one I bought was a used yellow top from TerryD when he was still at Advance in BBurg. So far they seem to be good, but I doubt I could ever bring myself to pay full price for a new one.

You can confirm the story with Baber and Leach, but when I bought my now broken half shaft from them, the moron behind the counter asked at least twice if the truck I needed the drivers side front half shaft was indeed a 4 Wheel Drive. No Mr. Idiot Parts Guy, I need a front half shaft for my 2 wheel drive truck.
Blame the broken shaft on this guy...

The OLD Optima's I had were decent, but this new one blows.

Tried to start the Trailduster yesterday and nothing. I had charged the battery last time I used it and disconnected the battery cables. It has sat for maybe a month. Hooked the cables up, and nothing. Had to jump start the truck yet again.
