350 TBI cutting out...any ideas?

it started back up tonight first try. I set the timing and it idles nice and smooth. I'm going to take it out tomorrow and see how it performs. Too dark tonight to get out to check for leaks and crap.

The best way to test it is to find a straight stretch of road and just hold the gas pedal to the floor for as long as possible to see if it will get to 190mph. Cause if it will do 190 then that means it's putting out enough power! :mrgreen:

I couldn't have said it better myself. If infact you can not get to 190 you should either install a twin pinwheel setup and 39.5in Red Label Krawlers, or put the motor in a Toyota.

My speedo does not work, so what I had to do is get my girlfriend to drive beside me in the XJ and give me the thumbs up when we reached 190mph. THe problem was, when her speed limiter cut in at 110, I just went cruisin ahead of her until I tached out at 7.5grand. I figured it was about 185 or 190mph and then if felt like my 37's were going to shred apart. That should break the cam in pretty good.

But for real, the engine runs better than it ever has. "She coon dog!"
