Not as of yet - no headway made this weekend, as I was out of town.

Ahh ok. I'm hoping to have mine up and running by this weekend, but my folks are coming into town so we'll see. I'll keep you posted if I figure anything else out.

I have had great luck with a place out in floyd. I can't remember the name but can give you directions if needed. I had them replace the fuel tank which had a hole on my CUCV and it was like $75. They are legit and inexpensive. I know it might be a haul but...

Thanks for the input! Any movement from Blacksburg to a shop is going to be Jeep-towing-Jeep action, so you are right that it might be a stretch.

Thanks, but we're good! Granted, it's not an ideal towing situation, but we did make it from Staunton to Blacksburg along 11 without incident :lol2:

Do you have any sort of check engine light? I've had a similar issue where mine feels like it drops a cylinder or two under load (climbing up hill at speed...). Ended up being the TPS (throttle position sensor) and some muddy ground connections. If the TPS goes bad the computer should default to a generic value, but might not be a bad idea to check it if you haven't already.

If you can limp it out, I recently used Poole Brother's Automotive in Christiansburg and they were fantastic. Great work, very friendly, and very fair. They're like 100 yards down the road from Autozone on Roanoke St.
