Alec, cherokees are capable of pretty decent economy compared to the same 4.0 in a wrangler. If I recall correctly even rant managed 24 mpg in clifford on 35's on a long trip, to/from wheeling or md or something.

Interesting. I knew they were better than an OD TJ, but I was under the impression it was only by a couple MPG's.

I got the fuel injectors installed today. I did notice a smoother idle for sure. Throttle response seems to be better, but it is hard to tell if it just the placebo effect. Will update if any performance/mpg gains are noticed.
I inspected my old injectors, and they seemed fine. There was no buildup blocking the fuel port, so I think all of my injectors were still good to go. So the improved idle/throttle response is definitely due to the design of the 4-port injectors and not due to the possibility that one of my injectors was bad. This also means any performance gains I notice will have to be attributed to the 4-port design and not simply the replacement of old injectors.
