I'll take some fawking pictures when get around to it, or maybe I won't take any at all. I'm busy. Better yet, I'll probably be posting soon to seek assistance with a couple of projects (shackle flip, install D44 etc.) and you can come see for yourself.

I just got my 4.56 geared axles back from Pride and Joy in McCoy and had a little problem. The rear 8.8 cover (not OE its chromed! its gay i know) will not go on because the ring gear scrpaes the cover. Any suggestions? I've thought about an aftermarker one, but are they expensive?
Ok guys here's a pic of the bronco with the rear axle out getting ready for new spring hangers, Sky's shackle flip, bushings, etc.

the OEM cover fits mine with 4.56 gears. you could grab one from a junkyard from anything from a ranger to explorer to f150/bronco, so long as it's got an 8.8. do watch out though- some came from the factory with composite covers that are not real easy to tell from the steel ones.
I don't think anyone would knock you for taking a minisledge to what you got though.

Eric:
Got the cover from Agee's off of a junker 8.8 and it worked great! The clean up was definitely worth the $ savings.

Rivets suck!!!
It took about an hour to get this rivet out. I first ground the head down, repeatedly pounded the sh*t out of it, and finally drilled it out. I've got SEVEN more of these b*st*rds to go.

Spring eye bolts suck too!!! I pounded on this with a 2 lb hammer and a 16lb sledge to no avail.

Suggestions?

man i've been there. I had to remove 20 rivets when I did the TTB lift on my truck back in the day. all I can suggest is a bigger punch and a bigger hammer. I happened to use a 3/8" ratchet extension and mini-sledge and really wailed on it (probably misuse of tools there).
the spring bolts suck. even if they spin freely in the bushing, the rust builds up inside in such a way that they're blocked from coming out. it defies physics. I had to sawzal through the originals on the ranger. you can spread the hangers out a bit to help get a blade in there.

I'll try the sawzall on the spring eye bolts.

I've got a couple questions:
What is an inexpensive way to get some bumpstops for my bronco? I'm lifting the rear about 4.5" with a shackle flip.
The rear flexible brake line fits into what looks like a distribution block mounted to the 8.8 axle tube. The fitting here does not appear to be threaded. Can anybody tell me more about how this is attached? What's a good inexpensive way to replace this brake line with a longer one?
