I heard that too but I don't think it is a dirtbike. I think it was just some trash he found with some tires bolted on.

I think we need to check with the county about our next clean up. I went to the dump today and had to pay to get rid of the shit. (Though the smell still lingers). I told the lady it was for a county clean up. She said, "ok, are you paying by cash or check?" I told her I could just take the shit back where I got it. There was real nice kid just waiting for trash to push over a hill. She really didn't seem to care about anything other than my payment method.

whered you take it? when i took my load i went to the one on prices fork with the fence and all past snuffys. the old geezer dude just asked me if i was from montgomery county. i said yes cough*bullshit*cough and said "i just live right up the road and this is my buddy's truck with all the VT stickers and shit." he hesitantly let me it only to follow me over to where the appliances go and tellin me stories about how the old rusted as fridge i was dropping off belonged in George Washington's house or some bullshit and that if I drove up to New York I could sell it for a million dollars in an antique store.

whatever :confused2:

As far as I know the county landfill is just like you said, they play by the rules and dont really care you still have to pay. Maybe the club could get the bill for it?

It ain't about the money. It's the principal. Ole bat just pissed me off.

I took it over to the big dump off of 460 behind the bowling alley.

Sorry about that man... the club will pay you the money back, or just buy you some beer at BW3's the next time we go out there.

I managed to not pay anything to get rid of the rest of my stuff, but just barely. I went to 2 different consolidated waste sites (like the one on prices fork) before I was rid of all 16 tires. the funny thing is that each one I went to had a different idea as to how many tires they could take. One said 8, another said 5, but he let me drop the last 8 that I had. The guy at the prices for one sunday said 4 was the max, so it seems to be different depending where you go or who you talk to.

I couldn't get any consolidated waste site to take the fenders and door, so i went to the county waste authority and the receptionist told me I would have to pay $3 for the fenders and doors up to 100lbs, then the lady at the scale said scrap metal was free so I guess I lucked out.

When we did the last big cleanup run, I called ahead to the consolidated waste place and asked them what they would not take, and at that time the guy said anything but undried paint or something to that effect. Either they have changed their policies since then, or they simply don't feel like telling you everything over the phone.

After the problems we had this time, I'm going to make VERY sure next time of everything we can and get get rid of, where, and for how much.

No biggie, 8 bucks ain't gonna kill me. It was just the principal. Granted we were helping ourself to keep the trail open, but we were still doing a community service. And with out a court sentence! :confused2: If Mont. Co. gives us crap next time, I can bring my dump truck and haul it all to Pulaski Co. on my way to the lake. They'll take anything, from anywhere.

Don't get all excited. It's just an old 88 Dodge 250 Forest Service truckwith a slide in dump unit. Pretty handy though, if you can stand the rough ride.

How about an 89 Dodge D-50 truck? I traded for one yesterday. I could see a little Tonka Toy made out of one of those.

well thanks for dealin with the idiotes at the dump. which dump was it exactly so we know to avoid it in the future? was it one of the consolidated waste centers listed here?

upon further searching, I found this page with more detail: it does say there that they don't take auto parts, but it also says that residents of b'burg and c'burg are allowed to dump there too.

Did someone say D-50 Tonka Truck?

This is a guy in NC. D-50 monster truck that gets beat on and runs some nasty trails and keeps on going. We ran into him on a Uwharrie club run November of '04. Yes those are 49's and yes the tree is acting as his parking brake on the hill.

Krantz will remember that truck. I rode with him on that trip and once we met him he followed us for a little and all we could see in the mirror was a big ass axle and parts of the tires. Its HUGE.
