Got some more work done this past week. Spring and shackler hangers welded up, springs in, 60 put together. Nice to have it back on 4 wheels for the time being.

I really need to suck it up and spend money on some full high steer arms to get it steering again. Hopefully Friday I can turn it around and start on the rear. Ugh.

Bitch is wide. I already don't like full widths but I don't have the motivation to cut em down. Thanks Will for lending me your rollers.

Finally burned the motor mounts in the rest of the way, The AA mounts worked out nicely I'm glad I didn't take the time to make my own.

Looking good Nick, run some H2s and you can get your width down some (buy mine :thumby:)

haha I figured there would be a sales pitch in there

I'm guessing my only complaint with H2's is that I can't just buy DIY beadlocks, weld em on, and go. Although Aluminum wheels would be sweet.

Whats the backspacing on those things? I'd like to get em as close in as possible without running my tires into the leaf springs.

I'm pretty sure the backspacing is somewhere around 5.5". Even if you don't really want them just let me know and i would be more than happy to pull two of them off so you could get an idea on how much backspacing you will be able to use.

Are you going to leave it manual or convert it to hydraulic?

Got my old rusty rear frame cut out and new one welded in. Still needs fish plates and gussets but the hard part is at least done. Jeep really sucks at quality fabrication. My poor skills combined with the fact that nothing on a Jeep is perfectly square and true made this project interesting. My new rig will probably crab walk like my old rig did, oh well. Hopefully I get it reinforced and springs mounted on Wednesday and then I'll be more or less done with the bull shit fab work on this thing.

I've pretty much given up on the "driving by winter break" goal. I'd still like to get a majority of the work done before next semester though (wiring, plumbing, brakes.) Gotta find me a rear end asap.

is the rear crossmember still catawombus? That last picture looks pretty evenly spaced to me.

It's still catawombus, but not that much. The tub is a little catawombus on the frame, and the frame is rather catawombus in general. But unless I point out where it's catawombus I doubt any one would really notice. Catawombus.

I think you just wanted an opportunity to use catawombus
