A couple of like posts. If you use electrolisys DO NOT USE STAINSESS FOR THE ELECTRODE. I am using the Molassas trick and it works well. BTW I'm locostv8 on that forum.

I built an electrolysis machine in my parents basement. It worked really well. Its utilizes a plastic 50 gallon drum and I used rebar for the electrodes. I've included pictures below. The first one is of the actual apparatus, and the second is an after picture of my skid plate. I wanted to see how good it would work, so I installed it under my truck for 3 months with bare metal. All the rust (and some of the powder coat) was removed overnight. It really is cool. I still have the setup if someone wants to try it out. If you want to remove paint and powder coat, you have to use costic soda instead of baking soda. That stuff is extremely dangerous and it won't be happening in my parents basement.
