there is no reason for those years that is what leach told me to put. an yes i wont fullwith. if there is any thing you no that may help me out i can use all the help i can get. this is the frist time that i have did anything like this.

if you're gonna do fullwidth, you'd actually be better off with a 76-77 44 from a F150/F100. the difference is that on the 76-77 axles you can easily move the radius arm and coil perches inward on the axle to fit the narrower ranger frame. on a 78-79 you either have to narrow the axle or space out the coil buckets and radius arm brackets on the frame, which is a bit harder to do.

78-79 had the all-in-one cast brackets.
on the left is the pre-78 mount where the radius arm wedges are simply welded to the tube. on the right, the 78-79 single cast piece that is pressed and welded onto the end of the tube.
if you're gonna go leafs, you also have the option of an F250 44 which will already be set up for leaf springs. you should seriously consider keeping the coils though. there's prolly less fabrication involved with a coil/radius arm swap on a ranger than a leaf spring swap.
