Why is the club named Sinking Creek?
This old timer was asking questions about my jeep at a gas station today and saw the SC4WDA sticker and asked why we named our club sinking creek. I felt like a dumbass cause i dont really know why. This guy aparently lives in the sinking creek area of craig county. My jeeps old and it always attracts attention from old timers so i can see this problem arising again. If someone who has been here longer than i could please tell me why we are Sinking Creek 4 Wheel Drive Association that would be awesome.

If you look at a topo map of the area just north of Blacksburg you will find Sinking Creek. It runs at a 90 degree angle to 460, on the east of 460 it is above ground, and as soon as it goes under 460 on the west side it goes underground.
From what I remember, there was a trail that ran along Sinking Creek back in the days when the club was founded.
