My front driveshaft is about an inch too long with the new axle. Can I used someone's chopsaw and welder for about half an hour sometime?

You should be able to push the axle forward an inch a lot easier than what is required for me to move my front axle forward 3.5" on the TJ. If you still want to cut and weld your front shaft you are welcome to come to my fiance's place in Pulaski and use the chop saw and welder since I will be wrenching away on mine all weekend. It's a stick welder, but I didn't have any problems when I shortened my front shaft 2" a couple years ago.

I guess you're still SUA then? If so, just redrill the holes in your spring perches an inch back from where they are now.
