 Just thought I'd share

tech content: Melted Accel distributer Friday, new dizzy, new coil, can't get it to stumble long enough to warm up so I can get the timing set...

 for anyone who thinks they can straighten this out...

yeah... but at $300 for an alternator and $125 for a starter... I won't feel as bad with the $40 starter in it and the $80 alternator... when I push the flaming hulk down the hill and out into the road :flipoff2:

I don't know why it melted. Accel dizzy installed in Jan 07. Replaced coil and voltage regulator with standard stuff. voltage regulator went out in early spring for unknown reason, replaced coil and v-reg again.

Truck was idling in the driveway warming up Friday morning and just shut off... no sputter or anything. The harness on the coil side of the voltage regulator was completely melted...

Should have gone MSD I guess... but cash and timing was wrong in Janurary.

oh, and screw Advanced Autoparts for being dicks about the return "if you burn up another coil you're gonna have to pay someone to look at that damn truck cause this is the last one we're gonna warrenty" from teh c-burg crew at that... don't they make good money off of dumb rednecks tearing stuff up anyway? :lol2:

no, they make the same money regardless and its very very suckay money at that........ and MSD sucks balls....unless you like fargile, finickey, and expensive. you are the only person who's ever melted those plugs that i've ever seen.........
