hey guys.. I know some of you have/had legos. I need all the Technic stuff you guys have left! I'm planning a buggy build (gotta build something, at least this way my bills still get paid) If you'd be willing to donate your Technic and Lego peices to this build it would be awesome! Ya'll know where to get ahold of me if anyone has anything they'd care to see put to good use! Thanks Guys!!!!

Since I'm broke and my Lego stuff is paid for, I decided to put the new coil overs on the front today.

Old coil over type vs. new

I pulled the front axle.

not quite a 60, but it'll do :flipoff2:
Image

Got the new radius arms built and tested.

Then the wild hair struck and the front end came off.

Narrowed the front exo and removed all the front bumper/junk.
Image

Took out the wide section of the frame, and moved the front rails up higher.

after:

Narrowed the grille/headlight assembly and rigged up some coil over mounts. ( I know its mounted to the body, but it is just to hold the front end up till I get a brilliant idea of how to mount them.)

Put the tires/wheels back on it.

damn I can't wait till I get outta school.......

Thanks! I've got the whole rear section of body torn off it right now. Thought about tubing it out, but I'm unsure about how it'll look.

Terry Where did you get your legos? Eli has taken an interest in them and I cant seem to find any good sets. It seems everything now is based off of some tv show and has large premolded pieces.

Go to Lego.com and you can buy some cool sets. I started getting legos when I was about his age, and have always enjoyed building with them. I started getting Technic sets when I was in elementry school because I had a "technical" mind. They've started cutting back on technic due to the lack of creativity in kids now adays. This started out as a Lego Model kit for a Cabover Road Tractor/ FJ40. I lifted it w/o articulation the first time. I didn't like just having it lifted, I needed wheel travel, so I started with the front on a pivot, then moved to the radius arm setup, then four linked the rear and so on and so forth to what I have now.

I got some good ones when I was a kid way too many years ago and I dug them out the other day for Eli. I just cant seem to find any of the good sets anymore. I will try lego.com and see what they have.

OK, so I took off the rear of the tub, added some bars and a cantalever coilover setup. Tell me what you think.
