The charge/battery light problem is pretty common. There is a charge relay inside the cab mine is on the pass. side kick panel (83 pickup). These can be part of the problem. Bad grounds can also be a problem. There are tons of threads on pirate discussing this problem with many different solutions. My charge light came on 2 years ago and I could not figure it out tried quite a few things. My charging system checked out ok so I pulled the charge relay the light went out and I left it alone. The trucks been running for over 2 years since then.

Okay I did some looking on the relay and couldnt find it on the pass side I did find one above the radio but it didnt phase the problem..but when I was back tracking on the fuses I noticed where the fuse plugs in under the hood I had pushed the terminals down and they wasnt connecting otherwards the fuse box is broken and when I did that it blowed the 7.5 charge fuse...but I replaced the fuse and it didnt phase a thing...so Im thinkin I shorted something in that fuse box when I was rewiring...So if anybody could help that would be great...Its a 87 toy
