early dana 30 hub socket

anyone in the Blacksburg area have an early dana 30 hub socket that I can borrow for tonight so that I may put my axles back together. Beer may be involved as a rental fee. Call me on my cell 540-257-1921

i thought you had it, didn't you bring it home for me cause i was anticipating on making the rausch trip? i never got it from you cause i never went to rausch. if its here i dunno where it is.......

54 mm ish?

or 2 1/8 ish?

somethin like that, i dont really remember. plus i think the dana 30's changed between then cj's, yj's, and xj's/tj's so it depends on how "early" of a socket he needs. could be wrong tho, usually i am.

i bought a 54mm socket for mine ... and it fit :flipoff2:

not sure what size yours are, but 54mm fit mine ..... i even keep it in my trial box so i can fix your shit when you break :flipoff2:

You said they "were" 54mm, I was asking if someone went around and changed them since the last time I was in my axle ;) :flipoff2:

If you're feeling redneckish, a screwdriver and hammer can be used to remove and install them (no torque wrench on the install though). Put the screwdriver on a corner of the nut, hit with hammer.

PO of my CJ5 made a big deal of giving me the socket when I bought the jeep. He went on and on about how useful it was to have one with you at all times. He had it mounted to the front clip strut. Funny thing was, the nuts on my spindles were so f'd up from him using a hammer and screwdriver on them that there's no way he ever got that socket over the nuts.
