I've gotta fish for 5 hours on Sunday as a class assignment... I need someone who knows something about fishing to go with me. I've never been much for fishing and know very very little about it....

As bad as it may seem the duck pond and the pond over by Hunters Ridge arent that bad if you just want to catch fish. There are no trophys in there but there is stuff to keep you busy and its close and easy to access. I have taken Eli because i know I wont come away skunked and will not have a lot of time invested. All you need is a can of uncooked biscuits or some worms and you are in business.

Where ever really... I live in Radford so I'm about 300 yards from the river and 2-3 miles from Claytor Dam...

does tech offer this class that requires fishing? wtf am i doing wrong in life...

id go with ya terry but my rents are in town for the weekend so im booked sunday. im sure you would have luck wherever you go with some nightcrawlers . prob your best bet if your just trying to catch something.....ive been down to the river only once this semester but im pretty sure smallmouth fishing is only decent at best. they should be switching patterns for the fall and its always a pita to fish when their patterns arent consistent.

i need to find the time to get out and catch some redeye or bluegill for my new fish tank....btw thanks krantz i got a stand for it and its holding water fine should work out great

Well, the thing is I HAVE to have someone go with me. And not knowing anything about fishing, I'd like to have someone who does go along...

I understand, no problem guys... Anyone have any free time on Tuesday or Thursday? I can chop the 5 hours up into parts if need be, just have to have it done before Friday.

So I spend 9.5 hours last night sitting on the bow of a 16' bass boat with one of my Dad's buddies Jonithan. At 4am, that lake is freaking COLD. Caught two small channel cats and a runny nose. Jonithan got two about the same size as mine and one about 7-8lbs. All-n-all, I had a blast.

Strippahs!

Striper fishing is pretty good on Claytor actually. Getting to be that time of the year. Very good eating too.
