My dad's springs are sagging and I just can't believe you have to spend $800 to get a cheap lift kit (1"-2" to clear the headers).

Where do I look? 1985 suburban...

you might try a set of 3/4 ton leafs from the junkyard of that same vintage, either suburban or pickup will work fine.

At least for my 95 1/2ton Suburban, that route isn't much cheaper...I checked around home and 3 yards had em and all three wanted outrageous prices for springs that in some cases had 200,000 miles on them...

Chris,

I can get a 2" full BDS suspension system for that truck for right at $534.19, plus tax. That's for new front springs, rear blocks, new shocks, and hardware. Another thing to remember is the full lifetime BDS warranty. You can total the truck and bend the springs and as long as you ship them back to BDS they'll send you new ones.

Another vote for BDS. Back when I had my first fullsize I had BDS springs for all 4 corners waiting to go on it before I sold it. BDS springs also ride pretty good.

Another option is Tuff Country, their springs are nice as well...
