Ya, the tacoma coils are a little bit stronger than the ones you can rent at autozone, so I figured I'd ask around. Now that I think about it I'm not sure i need one just for shock replacementRedneck7 wrote:I've just borrowed them from Advance or Auto Zone when I needed them in the past. Like a $20 deposit or whatnot.
if your truck is set up like mine im pretty sure you will need compressors to replace the shocksdgerm wrote:Ya, the tacoma coils are a little bit stronger than the ones you can rent at autozone, so I figured I'd ask around. If I remember right, the compressor from advanced wouldn't fit on your tacos coils.BadnewsCJ wrote:

I used a rented one on my 1998 Tacoma, but I do remember having a time getting the thing actually on and off the coils (pretty sure it was because the feet on the compressor were bigger than the gab between each coil of the spring...but that was 6 years ago, so I'm not 100%).alk1174 wrote:I used the Autozone spring compressor on my 04 tacoma and it worked fine for me.
