Stopped in 1st place performance over in Cburg the other day and talked with the guy at the counter for a little while. They are mostly a race shop but did have some stuff that would carry over to us. They had 8.8 and 9" gears and lockers in stock and have some one who sets up gears. He said they prefer to have the axle cleaned and brought to them with as much unnecessary stuff as possible removed. They also have jigs to narrow most common axles and I would think they could widen them also.
He said they can get good prices on Mickey Thompson tires but would not be competitive on other brands. Otherwise they mostly specialized in performance race parts.
They also work with Rye Valley Gear on driveshaft work and claimed a quick turn around time.
Anyone here have any experiece with them? I only know what I saw when I went in and everything seemed ok. They are on Depot Street the address is on their website which is kind of plain.

I'm bad with street names, but is this the shop that's next to hose house?

Thats it. They are right next to each other and carry some of the same oils. The guy at the hose house also has a lot of race trophies on the shelves. I wonder if the are related in any way?

I don't have any experience with the shop in terms of purchasing/getting work done, but I stopped in there probably 2 years ago when they first opened. Seemed like they knew what they were talking about. I was shopping for some parts for the Lotus and he seemed very knowledgeable when it came to car stuff.

The guy that owns Hose House and the guy that runs 1st place performance are racing buddies. If I remember right they drag race on the weekends. If I also remember right they both have stake in that shop.

I went in there over the summer looking at prices on fuel cells and pumps. The guy was very helpful and knowledgeable, and when I have the $$ I will be going there to buy. They seem to be willing to order just about anything you want.
