Looking for a rear axle preferably Dana 44 over a Dana 35 with 4.56 gears and a locker but up for other options. Let me know what you have and we will try and figure something out.
tsouth07@vt.edu Thanks

You could always go with a Toyota 8in from the junk yard. You would have to find one that has the 4.56's in them. I know 90's V6 4runners had them.

Isn't the Ford 8.8 a common swap for these? There is a guy on Roa or NRV Craigslist parting out a late model Ranger.

I appreciate the help fellas. A Ford 8.8 is a common swap and quite popular at that as it is stronger than the Dana 35 and has Disc brakes over the drums that come stock. Only downfall is having to buy the mounting brackets and have them welded onto the axle. I'd gladly go that route if the price was right. Any around with gears/locker? Once again thank you all
BadAssEddie- Let me know about that 8.8. Gears/Locker/Miles?

The bronco 8.8 will be way wide. It's full size width. What you want is out of a 98+ Explorer. Disc brakes, 31 spline shafts, and lots of aftermarket availability.

With that said I must pass on your 8.8 Eddie. An explorer rear would definately be the way to go with my TJ. I'm trying to make my jeep more than an oversized paperweight, feel free to fire away with other options and of coarse if you or someone you all know are trying to get rid of an axle. Once again fellas, many thanks.

Got a lead for ya that may or may not suit your needs. I was BSing with the Eric, the dude that works at Advance Auto on Main and he has a D44 rear out of a 98 sahara that he's looking to get rid of. He said it has a LSD that needs the clutches replaced and it needs brakes but is other wise ok. It has 3.55s in it and he has 3.55s for a 30 front to match. He said he wants $350 for all of it and you can call him at 540-239-6459.
