hey guys, whats up with Motive Gear? Why is their stuff half the price of Yukon?? Ive read a couple of reviews on sites that says they are just as good/better than Yukon, but half the price and same quality means double the value and that just seems a little sketchy to me. So, who has some experience with them?

I'm running a set of their 4.56 gears in the front of my CJ-5. They're a Dana 30 gear set with a welded carrier. I've run them probably for about 2-3 years and they work fine so far. I bought them because they were cheap and I didn't care if they lasted too long since they were in the front and I have hubs. I'd run them again, they seem to work out pretty well. Again though, the cheaper gear set you get typically the more difficult they are to setup. The easiest gear set I've set up are Precision Gear. I set up 2 sets of axles and they seem to setup fairly easily and they've lasted pretty well. They're in a '00 TJ with 4.88's. The axles are D30 & D44 and they guy is running 37" MTRs. Maybe he'll chime in here to give some personal experience.

I think it was motive gear that I stuffed in my 8.25 when I had that. They weren't bad to set up and held up for 25,000+ miles. It was the bearings that gave up to the ghost after a 3 minute slosh fest in a mud hole up at bobcat. Somebody is still running those gears now, I had a 9" on hand and went with that. I had no issues, 'cept now I hate mud.
