I'm thinking about picking up a plow for the F250. Anybody have some advice on what brands have the best feature-set and hold up the best, and where to buy (even though I'll probably look for something used)?

Were a Meyer dealer back here and run them on most our trucks. I love the old tube mount style meyers but I dont think you casn get them for your truck. The MDII which I think would be in your year range is nice too, my dad has one on his dodge.

we have a western v-plow as well but have never set it up on the truck, the meyers work fine.

I run a tube mount E-57 on my plow truck, My dad runs an MDII E-60 and we have another truck running an E-57H.

What's your opinion on steel vs poly blades?

What is this new F-250 rig of which you speak?

Oh, just a 2000 F250 Supercab/longbed 4WD 7.3 6spd

Ive personally never run a poly blade. I like the steel ones but thats only because thats what I use and it works. It will rust out after a long time and is heavier, but i like weight on the blade because it helps it scrape up ice and keeps it on the road instead of riding over top packed snow.

Well I picked up a used Meyer in really great condition. Gonna need some help lifting it out of the back of the truck... have lots of beer here though.

cavalier equiptment keeps plows and parts...sg wimmer (johndeere) keeps some stuff if you want to pay their higher prices

Will, from the specs I looked at, the poly moldboards seem to be just a bit HEAVIER than steel. I guess it's cause the poly boards have a whole lot more steel webbing behind them.

Now that I have this, it won't snow again for 5 years.

Nah, it's steel. Meyer C-8.5 with the classic mount. Aside from being in pristine condition, I'm extra tickled cause I was expecting to have to modify the vehicle mount or pick up some different brackets, but so far it seems to fit perfectly.

Now I just need to convince my neighbor who I share the driveway with that the gravel the plow pushes off to the side can be raked back onto the driveway in the spring when the snow melts.
