Smoking exhaust due to carburetor?

When I bought my truck it smoked when it started and has a nice gas/exhaust kinda smell when runnning. I was thinking that maybe due to several holes in what was left of the exhaust was perhaps the problem with air mixing with the exhaust. Had True Dual Exhaust put on and it still smokes/smells. I've been told dark is too much fuel and blue is oil. I would say it's more blue then actually being dark. Was hoping perhaps someone could point me in the right direction of what to check/look for in the engine/compartment. I'm off Thursday so I'm gonna spend all daywith it figuring it out if I can and doing an oil change.

Oil in the cylinders (blue smoke out the exhaust) is caused by either worn valve guides or worn oil control rings on the pistons. Either way your gonna have to pull the head(s). Or you can just ignore it and keep topping off the oil.
