Is there a split in the carrier sizing for different gear ratios ?

The junkyard axle that I swapped in was G80 with 4.10's and it is not locking up anymore so i have decided to go for a mini spool instead. And i have two axles for the same truck sitting at home 3.08 and 3.42 ratios just wanted to know what one to pull the carrier out of ?

I really don't think it matters if your throwing in a mini spool, all it does is replace the spiders.

edit: or are you asking so you can put the 410s on an open carrier?

According to yukon the carrier break is 3.08 and down & 3.23 and up

well i was just wondering because i was pretty sure that i could only put a mini spool in an open carrier.
