what engine/trans are you trying to bolt a driver drop t case behind? 79 should have had a d20 tcase if not a qtrac. I don't think there is any drivers drop tcase with the same texas bolt pattern as the d20. You will probably need a tranny/tcase combo or a $$$ adapter.

its got a 360 i dont know the tran. i got anouther jeep with the deal but its full time 4wd the "qtrac" it has a good passanger side t-case but that means i got to chang the front end. do you know anything adoult the qtrac thing? it it better? do you know the ups or downs to it? the outher jeeps rear end looks different the center pice is over to the right. would i have to chang everything?

Atlas

.
Replace it with waht it had, if thats the Qtrack then so be it. Your options for a driver drop case are rather limited as far as worthwhile endeavours are concerned.

i think dana 20's and most dana 300's have a bolt pattern at the input that looks like texas. some have a circular pattern (easy to clock). but i'm a toyota guy, so i might be wrong...

dana 18s, 20s & scout dana 300s have the texas bolt pattern.
regular dana 300s have a circular bolt pattern.
quadra-trac vehicles have an offset rear differential. the unit is full time 4wd. some units are equipped with low range some aren't. the only shifters it has are to engage the low range and a vacuum switch to lock up the front to rear differentiation. they are not the ideal setup for four wheeling.
I still haven't figured out what you are trying to do. You have a waggy with a drivers side offset front axle and a 360 but without a transfer case? Is the transmission an automatic or manual? Is the adapter to the transfer case still attached to the tranmission? If so are the bolt holes on the adapter in a circular pattern or shaped like the state of texas?
And also, spell check is your friend.
