Decent Local Mechanics

Does anyone know any decent local mechanics? My '99 Taco went up in smoke this morning, and it's my daily driver, so I kinda need to get this rollin as quickly as possible. I've been having trouble for a few weeks now, only occasionally so I didn't have it checked out. Sometimes when I turn the engine on, there's an extra engine noise, maybe a pulley more than normal turning, and when I try to cut the engine off, the starter keeps turning/trying to crank. I was thinking it's maybe an exposed wire that sometimes makes contact somewhere it shouldn't. If I leave it in gear while this happens, it'll move the truck. The negative wire is fried now, and I only got it to stop by yanking the positive wire off the battery. There was lots of smoke, mostly coming from the right side of the engine bay, under the engine, but I couldn't really see what was going on, and I'm by no means a mechanic myself. So any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks!

Modern Auto in C'burg has treated me well over the years. Also Protocol in Floyd has a good rep and I know the owner.

That shop I was telling you about yesterday is indeed Pride and Joy off of McCoy road. James called me back last night and recommends it. Says they have always done good work at decent prices for him.
