Hey yall. My names Luke. I'm a freshman at tech this year, undecided major. I'm from Salem, Va and I'm trying to get into some wheelin at tech, rather than having to go all the way to New Castle (Broad Run, Potts, Tub Run).
I drive a red '08 Jeep Wrangler JK.
-TF Leveling kit (2" front, 1" back)
-33x12.5 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
-15x8 Procomp 1069
-Flowmaster 40 Series
-Bunch of other odds and ins
I hate that I missed the meeting this past Sunday, but I didn't hear about Sinking Creek until I saw a guy in West End Dining Hall wearing a hoodie today.
Heres some pictures:

I've been wheeling a lot up around Potts but never heard of these spots? Legal wheeling spots? If so details would be great, we're always looking for new places.

I mostly do casual wheeling like fire trails, but I'm up for more.
-Broad Run is in Jefferson National Forest right before you get to New Castle. I went this past weekend, I took Roanoke Street (turns into Blacksburg Road) to Catawba, took a left and Broad run is a legal forestry trail that runs through Craigs Creek 10-12 times before it outlets to either the bottom of Catawba Mtn. or Botetourt County. It's fun to do after it rains, but the game warden is pretty strict on getting off the trail (not that I do that because I'm a huge supporter of Tread Lightly). My buddy just got a $250 ticket for wandering off the trail.
-Tub Run is near Craig Springs correctional center in Craig County. Go the same way as Broad Run, but you have to follow 311 through New Castle and it's harder to find. Its another forestry road that is a little more narrow, but alot longer. Not too difficult, but it's a good place to get out.
-I also run Poor Mtn. In Salem, VA, because it's about 5 mins from my house. It's actually difficult in the snow/ice but it's alot of fun. There are a bunch of other trails at the top that run off the side of the mountain, but the trail up is simple.
I'm looking for places around Blacksburg. Any suggestions?

Thanks man. We need to find more Freshman that wheel. I saw a bad ass Toyota Tacoma (33" KM2s, 15x10 D windows, Flat Black paint) that I parked next to in Lane Stadium Parking lot the other day.

Potts is the closest legal wheeling to Tech. We are trying to get Bobcat opened back up for our use, however.

Very nice JK, looks like a fun rig. Don't worry about missing the meeting, we will have stuff going on all year.
We haven't been in contact with the owner of Bobcat in about a year so it's very hard to say exactly. In my eyes it would be a very reasonable thing for him to do, but its possible he may feel differently. I'm hoping to make some kind of progress with this before long.

You're welcome! If I see any lifted type of wheeling looking vehicles I am gonna stop and talk to them!
We need business type cards to hand out to those said people! I have a bunch of JeepForum cards that I can hand out! We should get some for SC4WDA!!

We have flyers and the Officers usually get business cards. We will print out a bunch of flyers and bring them to the next meeting for everybody to keep in their glove boxes. Good thinking man!

I think that I saw your TJ in the parking lot? Your sig says that you drive a yj, but I think I recognize that jeep. Are you the Red TJ w/ no flares, 35" km2s, beadlocks?
