Rig Inspections
Posted: Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:27 am
We've been discussing at the meetings reinstating the rig inspections that we have as of late let fall to the wayside.
The first post of this thread will be updated and edited to reflect and conclusions or decisions we come to through discussion further in, so look here for everything official.
I will start by just posting up what we used in the past for inspections and the few adjustments we have made on the fly for certain styles of rigs.
-First Aid Kit
-Fire Extinguisher
-Flashlight
-Seatbelts
-Tow Strap (no metal hooks)
-Front Recovery Point
-Rear Recovery Point
-Full Size Spare (this is waived for rigs with beadlocks/trailers that will not be required to drive home)
The last item on the list is "No Other Shadiness." This will always be in effect. If your frame is nearly cracked in half and will go at any second, it might not be a good idea to wheel. If your motor is knocking something fierce and will throw a rod momentarily, we might not want to wheel with you right then. You get the idea.
Anyone else who has ideas, suggestions, questions, or comments about any of the above please post up. We will make this the go to thread for information on safe rigs.
