Tail Lights

Hey whats the VA Law on tail lights?

My truck is set up to accept one 6" oval LED Trailer light on each side of the rear bumper.

Can this one light function as the tail light/brake light and turn signal? Or do I need to run a separate light for a turn indicator? I need this to pass inspection.

Thanks
Josh

One light should be fine to function as both tail and turn/stop light. That's how wranglers come from the factory and they are legal. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure my truck is the same. I would say you're good.

Yeah but I'm fairly certain Wranglers have multiple bulbs for each function rather than just one light.......

I'm gonna swing by the garage down the street today and ask the guy who does state inspections.

I could be wrong, as its been a while since mine had tail lights. But I am pretty sure they are a double element bulb, but just one of them.

The brake/parking/signal bulb is (2) element

The reverse bulb is of course a seperate bulb

To get the lights all in one you will need a converter like you would find for hooking up trailer lights. The reason being is that Toyota had the tail/turn lights separate when stock. That is why I had both tail and turn set up separate when I had the truck.

Let me know if you have questions on the wiring in the back.
