Matt C's Old Man DD Xj

Post by Matt612 »

Picked up this 88 Xj about 2 months ago, bone stock, 1 owner, 4.0L, 5 speed, 138k. DD'ed it for a couple months, finally got time do do some things to it this week, figured I throw up some pictures.

Picked up some ZJ limited wheels with 245/75/16 old style mtrs
Here is stock with new treads:

2" lift- super badass (definitely had it installed professinally :flipoff2: )

After lift:

Plan is to DD it awhile and maybe take it up to Potts once or twice, if I decide to wheel it any I will most likely get some longer el-cheapo shocks.

and too bad you can't get some big white walls

It sits pretty level, that picture is deceiving, but my rear springs are wore out. I have an extra set of leafs I could throw in, but I will prob just leave it for now.

If you go to Potts, maybe I can take the 4Runner and we can have a stock truck challenge.

Edit:

Also, that looks like a nice clean XJ

Stock truck challenge would be sweet, we would definitely need a couple good straps or another more built vehicle for tug duties (maybe Alecs bronco when its done?)

Y'all hit me up. My stocker has already been out there and performed really well on the half worn bridgestone street tires.

of course I did pull about 8 lbs of dirt off the tranny skid the next day. a few more runs and I should have the tops of those water bars knocked down real good.

Nice XJ Matt. I remember when my old 88 looked that clean. If you are ever in need of parts let me know. Between me and my old man I think we have enough to put together half a dozen pre 96 XJ's.
