Im a sophomore at Tech and have a Jeep JK 2014 (She was born September 3rd, 2014) but has a Pent Star Patriot 2015 engine after there was a mudding incident... basically had to get a new engine but it was an insurance thing so i only paid $250. Her name is Aithon. HOKIE SNAPS BROUGHT ME HERE. From NOVA
2014 Tan JK Sport
Painted Black Rims 17" Stock tires (Working on it)
Smittybuilt Steel half fenders rear and front
Smittbuilt tubular front bumper
Smittybuilt rear bumper
Quadratic 9000 winch (Not hooked... needing a little help)
Tail light guards
Im waiting to install my 2" budget boost (waiting to buy shocks as well)
I have taken my Jeep to...
-The sands of Florida
-The sands of Outer Banks
-The mud of Peters Mill Run
-The trail behind JMU
and thats about it so I'm hoping we can get together and go offloading together or go one weekend trips across the U.S. I did go with a group from NOVA that went up to Michigan to go off roading but heavy rains canceled it.
If anyone needs to do work to their jeeps or off roading vehicle and live near NOVA let me know cause we can do work at Ft. Belvoir, they have a garage with all lifts and tools and so much more and its only $13 for all day work. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Wait so what were you saying about the engine? The 2014 already came with the 3.6l, so does it have a different engine now? Just wondering because I really like the 3.6; I have just never seen one in a Jeep.

So my jeep was created September 3rd 2014 with the Origin Pentstar engine, apparently the far left cylinder head was crap and the temperature gage was weak and it hurt the dependability of the engine... I have never met anyone with that problem however when I was getting my engine replaced with the new Pentstar Patriot they have reinforced the cylinder head as well as the temperature gage as well as other weaknesses. The problem was in doing so the engine is bigger and doesn't fit like the original. It took over a month to get the new engine installed. Thats what the jeep dealership told me. There is no difference in MPG or HP I am averaging 1 less gallon per mile but that may be because I am still breaking in the engine, its been about 1K on the new engine so far. So if your engine does fail they will install the new pent star patriot engine, they started installing them in the late 2014 models and all the 2015s.

I honestly have found any information about the Pent-star "Patriot" (Thats what the dealership called it) however if you look up changes in the 2015 it discusses it. But looking at my engine compared to the old one... they is a noticeable difference in size and how it is mounted. Im afraid i broke in the engine wrong though which would make me sad. My last one I followed it verbatim and she worked so well and got great gas milage and she could get to 100MPG on 81 without a problem but the new engine i don't know if it broke it in wrong or what but the gas milage is not the same, and it is a tad bit slower... also due into part that I added about 250 lbs of protection to it

Im so glad I saw those, I want to go off roading with a group and find more trails, i just don't like going alone in case I get stuck or something... are there any plans for a trip or a place to find the plans or ideas?

Usually there are a couple of "big" trips per semester. Potts Mountain and Harlan, KY or similar. Otherwise, people just post up when they want to do Mountain Lake or whatever and anyone can join.

Im thinking next week go down to Peters Mill Run, about 3 hours away and the trail is about 2 hours if that and for friends at JMU its a great stop on the way back.
