Forest Service Rd

Hi all!

I'm just joined this forum. I went out on the Forest Service Rd (see google maps link) yesterday with a stock 4Runner. I'm guessing you all know this... but the road is fine until you get to a fire pit area. From that point on it appeared to be a trail intended for serious 4-wheeling. Eventually I got to a point where I couldn't bypass a mud puddle and I didn't want to risk getting stuck. The trail was much more rough than I expected.

Two questions: Is 4-wheeling allowed on that trail? And how do the mountain lake trails compare (could a stock 4 Runner handle them)?

Thanks

The fire circle is the farthest one is allowed to go. That trail is known as Bobcat. It crosses several tracts of private land and has been shut down by the Forest Service for some time. Mountain Lake is milder than Bobcat. A stock vehicle can run Mountain Lake just fine. Wheeling alone is a bad idea, just food for thought.

You can run your 4runner in 2wd on the main trail of mtn lake without too much trouble.
