Hey guys, just wanted to post that a few weeks back I stumbled on a pretty cool local group called Mountain State Overland. They have some pretty cool videos on YouTube and the cool thing is they map out their trip and it's available for download for $15 per route. Route 3 in particular starts out in New Castle to Wytheville over a 3 day period . Might be cool to get a group to plan a trip.

That sounds interesting. Is it all off-road? Do you have a link?

Route III: (New Castle to Wytheville): http://www.mountainstateoverland.com/store/route-iii

They pair together for 600 miles total. I am going to do Route III very soon.

I'm down! Need to break the new ram in! As long as the trails aren't as tight as potts tho....

Just watched an episode. I would not want to go wheeling with them, but the routes look cool. They are so JF. Use the winch on literally flat ground and pull out those skids for everything

I am going to buy the route to see if a winch is necessary. I don't think the Newcastle route would be as tight as that episode, more like fireroads and Bobcats.

Edit: Looks very tame. Travelled the route on Google Earth. Still probably a pretty fun trip. Making a thread in Trail Rides.

Lol @winching on flat ground. The trip does look like a nice getaway trip.
