-bought this truck before the school year started. It is a 1989 chevy 2500 "3+3" It was an illinois state owned truck. as you may know, these are well taken care of. I have taken this truck to and from Chicago on many occations. this is my daily driver. I have put around 8,000 miles on it in the past 6 months. it runs GREAT. when i bought it, the owner said the brakes were new and so were the tires. the drivers side seat has rips, so i threw on some seat covers. I have added a cd player and sound system. also changed oil, bought a trans cooler kit, changed lights, etc. This truck comes with a trailer brake controller. I also welded in new rocker pannels and bondoed it up to make the transition look smoother and repainted what i fixed. doesn't look great, but functions great. when i bought it the guy said it was 111,000 miles. he then showed me a carfax report on it indicating some service work done at 156,000, so i assume the odometer has rolled over twice instead of once like the guy said.... but ive never worried about it and it has never given me a reason to not trust it. I don't think the block heater works, i just spray some starter fluid into the grill and it starts right up. the odometer now shows 19,100. i believe this means 219,100, but the previous owner claims otherwise, and carfax sort of contradicts it. anyways, thats about all i can think of on it. if anyone wants to come drive it or whatever lemme know
PRICE- $2150 obo
- i have plenty of time to sit of this, i wont get another truck until april, so im not in any rush
thanks

WELL... the new diesel is my choice.... and no one makes a WVO conversion kit for the duramax's, so i am searching for a 98 dodge 2500 (id consider a 3500) diesel with REAL LOW MILES. like less than 75k. and i would also really like a manual trans. and ill be converting that to run on 100% Waste Veggie Oil.... so my tow rig/ DD will go anywhere for FREE :)
-chris
keep your eyes peeled for a 12valve dodge with low miles for me

couple of things a 98 12valve is like finding a needle in a haystack especially with low miles. and be ready to pay for it, a 98 12valve will sell for more than a 99 or 2000 with the same amount of miles. Also with the WVO you still have to start the truck on #2 aswell as shut it down on #2 so you would have to have an aux, tank for the WVO that is heated(because in b-burg it would turn back into a soild unless heated) aswell as a switch to switch between #2 and WVO. By the way if you get a 98 12 valve you better not let me find it

can you post a link to ebay when you get it up? I can't really swallow $1400 right now, but if i save my $$$, I'll be able to afford it in a month or so.
